Financial Aid
When you enroll in a class using cvc.edu, you can request to use your financial aid to pay for that class. Once you find a class you are interested in, you will be prompted to sign into your Home College’s online account and agree to several items, including state residency and minimum GPA. After your enrollment is processed, you will be directed to a "congratulations" page where you can select the Request to use Federal Financial Aid option.
Requesting Financial Aid
If you click Request to use Federal Financial Aid, your college will automatically receive your request and they will determine if you are eligible to use financial aid. You must be registered in at least six units at your home college to be eligible. Please note, clicking the request box does not mean you will receive financial aid. It is your responsibility to pay for the course while your college is considering your request for aid. Your college will not submit payment on your behalf and you may be dropped for non-payment by the college offering the course if you do not pay for the course.
Any questions regarding your aid package should be directed to your home college’s financial aid office.
California Promise Grant
If you have a California College Promise Grant, you may be able to use it to cover any classes you enroll in via the CVC Exchange. You will first need to re-apply for the California College Promise Grant by visiting your Exchange Profile Class Schedule. Select the Pay Now button next to your course, and then choose California Promise Grant (CCPG) from the payment options to be directed to the Teaching College's financial aid application process. As a reminder, the Teaching College is the college teaching the course you found on cvc.edu.
AB540 Students
Students who qualify for California Non-resident Tuition Exemption (AB540) are eligible for cross-enrollment. You must establish AB540 status with your Home College and then apply directly with the college teaching the course through the CCCApply application or the California Dream Act Application (CADAA), as applicable. You are responsible for adding the Teaching College’s CADAA Code on your application.
Student Veterans
Student Veterans may be eligible to use your benefits to pay for a course via cvc.edu. Please follow the steps above. Your Home College will determine if you are eligible for veteran’s benefits, then reach out to the Teaching College with a Parent School Authorization Letter.
Zero Textbook Cost
Courses that do not have textbook costs are designated with a Zero Textbook Cost (ZTC) icon in the search results. Please note, ZTC does not mean all learning materials in the course are open or free. Some colleges may use ebooks or streaming videos through the library databases available that are made available to students.
