About The CVC

The California Virtual Campus (CVC) is a systemwide resource for the 116 California Community Colleges (CCCs), ensuring that significantly more students are able to complete their educational goals by increasing both access to and success in high-quality online courses.

The CVC is sponsored by the Foothill-De Anza Community College District as the recipient of a multi-year grant from the California Community College Chancellor's Office (CCCCO).

California Community Colleges may take advantage of the following resources offered through the CVC:

  • Participation in the CVC Exchange, as Home and Teaching Colleges.
  • Access to data and enrollment dashboards through the CVC Exchange.
  • Resources such as the Online Course Design Rubric, CVC@ONE online educator certification, adoptable courses, webinars, and other professional development opportunities.
  • Shared technology such as Canvas, the state's common course management system, and other tools including Canvas Studio, Impact, NetTutor, and Pisces.

Advisory Committee

Formed in April 2014, the CVC-OEl Advisory Committee is a California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office (CCCCO) advisory committee to the CVC-OEl that provides guidance and recommendations on policies and procedures to the CVC-OEl management team. Members of the committee are appointed by constituent organizations that represent faculty, staff, administrators and students at the statewide level and also includes ex-officio participants from the CCCCO. Members represent the diversity of colleges, constituencies, and functions within the California Community Colleges (CCC).
