Banner Districts Upgrading to Student 8.31
For Banner districts, the Student 8.31 upgrade drops a view of SVQ_SCBCGID_COURSE, which is necessary for Ethos API integrations. Our team has created a monitor on the Courses API to identify when the error occurs and will notify your district to recompile the SVQ_SCBCGID_COURSE view post-upgrade. (PD0016108)
Colleague Districts Upgrading to .NET6
For Colleague districts upgrading to version .NET6, the CVC has identified that synchronous classes are now being displayed in UTC. Our team has developed a solution to convert UTC to PST and created a monitor at the sections level to easily identify if/when the change occurs. (KB000503932)
Teaching College Districts on Canvas ILP
If your district is a Teaching College and uses Canvas ILP, we will be reaching out to your IT teams to begin an update process to filter CVC students.
As a reminder, beginning Summer 2024, districts must report CVC cross-enrollments for MIS submissions (data element SX07). For existing Teaching Colleges, this will require an update to the workflow, which will be tested in your pre-prod environments. We will reach out to your IT and Admission and Records teams to begin this testing in the coming weeks.
Note: For Summer 2024 and Fall 2024 reporting, you may use an alternate identifier since this is not yet available in Production. Please use either the CVC student type (as applicable) or the CVC academic program.
On July 29, 2024, CVC announced to the Consortium an automated process to send and deliver transcripts for cross-enrollments in partnership with our vendor, Parchment. Below is what was shared with the Consortium.
We hope you are all enjoying your summer and finding time to relax and recharge! The CVC team continues to work on ways to improve the cross-enrollment process for both students and Consortium colleges.
As we discussed in the fall, the delivery of transcripts has been a pain point for many students. In partnership with our vendor, Parchment, we are developing a process to automate the sending and delivery of transcripts between institutions, which will debut this spring. In the interim, Parchment has offered to help with some of the work your admissions departments must do to process and receive transcripts.
In short, instead of admissions teams manually downloading an Exchange report and then processing transcripts for delivery, Parchment will generate transcripts and send them automatically via XAP or PDF to Home Colleges. The CVC will cover both the cost of the new process and the transcripts themselves!
In the next few weeks, Elizabeth Allison from Parchment will reach out to your admissions directors to explain the new process and determine a timeline for transcript processing at your institution (monthly, quarterly, etc.) As project leads, we ask that you work with your admissions colleagues to respond to Parchment’s email.
