The California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office (CCCCO) recently announced that funding has been secured to continue system-wide access to expanded online technology resources through December 31, 2020. We have updated our page on Expansion of Centrally-Funded Support Services accordingly. All CCCs can plan to continue receiving access to all of these services through December 31.
I have been asked about potential funding for certain tools beyond December 31 through CVC-OEI. My team is actively working to resolve complexities around contract renewal timelines and additional guidance related to the new reality presented by COVID-19. There are potential impacts for current consortium and non-consortium colleges after December 31. Now that we know that costs CVC-OEI has incurred this fiscal year (expanded resources March through June) and will face again in next fiscal year (July through December) will be reimbursed by the CCCCO, we are working on a resourcing plan that I expect will both align contract renewal considerations and maximize impact on a system-wide level.
We are working in partnership with the CCCCCO leadership and will provide colleges with more information about CVC-OEI specific technology resources at the earliest possible date. Meanwhile, for the time being colleges can count on expansion of all services through December 31. If you have additional questions, please contact [email protected] and my team or I will follow up.
