May 2025 CVC Exchange Release Notes

Common Course Numbering

In accordance with AB1111, the six Common Course Number-aligned classes are now available for search by students.

  • Banner districts: Logic has been added to your middleware build in order to accurately capture the course alias and/or course identifier, depending where the alias is stored.
  • Peoplesoft districts: If the catalog object has an effective date starting in the Fall term (e.g. 8/1/25), the new Common Course Number won't appear until that date. Until then, students will still see the old catalog number, which might cause some confusion during Fall registration. We're actively working on improvements and discussing ways to improve CCN searches for students in the upcoming Phase 2 release.

Ellucian Intelligent Learning Platform (ILP) for Canvas Provisioning

Over the past year, CVC, Ellucian, and Instructure have partnered together to improve the Canvas provisioning process for trust agreements. Now, CVC students with alternate IDs (such as "HCCU" and "HCCL") are excluded from the standard API process and instead mirror the logins.csv workflow if these values are present. This change helps students who register at ILP Teaching Colleges access their classes more quickly in their Home College’s Canvas instance. As a result, manual account merges are no longer needed for most students. Ellucian released this update in April.

If your district is moving to Ellucian ILP or you're experiencing issues with Canvas provisioning for CVC students, please send us an email at support@cvc.edu.
