March 2025 CVC Exchange Release Notes

Banner-Ethos Production Issues

• A new security object is required after upgrading to Banner Student API 9.36.1. If not inserted, the section-registrations API fails to register the student into the course. District IT teams were informed via email regarding the defect and were given an example SQL statement to insert the required security object. If needed, please reference Pasadena City College's ticket CSC03502674.
• Extensions for sections-maximum API are impacted with the Banner 9.27.1 release when moving to Data Access. Please submit an Action Line ticket referencing CSC03516412 to receive assistance with reestablishing the necessary extensions. The CVC team has created a monitor to determine when your district is impacted by the upgrade and will inform your team with next steps.

NEW Financial Aid Email Workflow

Beginning in March, CVC is releasing a new financial aid email workflow that incorporates identified counselor(s) to the request workflow prior to the Financial Aid Office review. Counselors will verify whether the course at the Teaching College meets the student's educational plan at the Home College. Please stay tuned for this release in the next few weeks!

Common Course Numbering Update

For colleges/districts using Banner, as you begin to include the course aliases for CCN adoption, please send us an email at implementations@cvc.edu. The CVC is starting its rollout to consume the course alias for Banner colleges, which requires a slight code change in our middleware layer. For Banner Direct districts, CVC will provide a new package for this update.
